Idaho VINE is a free custody-information and notification service. The Bonner County Sheriff links it from the official detention page, creating a direct local route even though the sheriff has no public recent-release feed. That link supports local use, but it does not promise that every Bonner, municipal, state, federal, or immigration hold is reported.
Open the person record and verify the displayed participating agency. A released or out-of-custody event means VINE received that event from that source. It does not prove the charge was dismissed, show a final court disposition, guarantee present location, or exclude custody elsewhere. Check One Bonner VINE Record
Start with enough identity data to separate similar names. A name-only match is weak.

- Use age, birth information, and agency to distinguish matches.
- Open the correct record and read custody status, event wording, agency, and update time.
- Save the source and check date before comparing another system.

Do not substitute Bonner’s Scheduled Release field for a VINE completed event. Scheduled Release is prospective data in the current jail PDF. Likewise, IDOC’s Released to Supervision, Sentence Satisfaction Date, Parole Eligibility Date, and Discharged status answer separate state-system questions.
Register Bonner Release Alerts
Register on the correct record before the event. A later search cannot recreate an alert that was never set.
- Select registration or notification on the matched record.
- Choose the custody event, including release when the live interface offers it.
- Select phone, text, email, or the app method offered.
- Enter and confirm the contact information.
- Create the four-digit telephone PIN if requested and save registration details.
IDOC Victim Services says Idaho registration may use phone, text, email, or all three. Telephone calls can require the four-digit PIN followed by the pound sign for acknowledgment. Unacknowledged calls may repeat. Because vendor choices evolve, follow the terms on the live Idaho screen.
Confirm Bonner VINE Events
For a Bonner jail event, call Booking Information at 208-263-8417 ext. 3005 for immediate status and request the actual date, time, disposition, authority, and destination from Sheriff's Records. VINE supplements that record. It does not replace it. For state jurisdiction, use the IDOC Resident/Client Search. In custody, In community, Discharged, and Active Bench Warrant are not synonyms.
Use the BOP locator for a sentenced federal prisoner and ICE’s locator for immigration custody. U.S. Marshals pretrial movement may require federal court, counsel, or district-office contact. A transfer from Bonner custody is not a community release.

This is the county-specific bridge to Idaho VINE and matters because Bonner publishes a current-inmate PDF but no official 24-hour or 72-hour release feed. The direct link still is not proof that each hold, transfer, or agency appears. Confirm the agency displayed on the matched VINE record.
A Bonner detainee may leave the physical jail for IDOC, another county, ICE, BOP, or U.S. Marshals custody. A county event cannot by itself establish release to the community. Pair it with the destination in the sheriff custody record and a result from the receiving system.

The screen is an entry point, not a result. Search and open the person record before interpreting an event or registering an alert. Confirm the participating agency, exact status wording, and update time on the live record because the interface and available choices can change.
Bonner Registry Is Separate
The Idaho State Police registry is a distinct post-release system. It applies only to people required to register and is not a complete list of released Bonner County inmates. A registry result addresses registration information, not the jail exit time or court disposition. No result there has no general meaning for custody.
For a release event, remain with VINE and the custodian. For the charge outcome, use iCourt. Keeping those systems separate prevents a narrow statutory registry from being misread as a universal released-person database.
Request Bonner Release Proof
When the exact county exit matters, submit the Bonner County public-record request. Identify the person, booking date or number if known, and a narrow date range. Ask for the existing jail-release screen, custody-history entry, booking jacket, or daily release record. Specify actual release date and time, disposition, releasing authority, destination agency, and responsive bond information. Request electronic delivery.

Under Idaho public-record law, a precise request gives the agency a better chance to segregate administrative release fields from any exempt investigatory material.
Compare the response to the VINE event. If the sheriff record says transfer, follow the destination. If it says a community disposition, keep that separate from the court’s result on the charge. Booking is not conviction, and a custody alert does not decide guilt.
Resolve a Missing VINE Result
No result is not a release event. Retry the search with alternate spellings, aliases, a full first name, and any available identifier. Compare age or birth information before selecting a similar name. If the person was recently booked, the participating source may not yet have supplied an event. If the person moved, the record may appear under a different agency. State exactly which system, inputs, and check date produced no match.
Next, open the Bonner current inmate report and call Booking Information for an immediate county check. Search IDOC when a prison, parole, or probation connection is possible. Review iCourt for the case event, while remembering that a court order does not prove physical departure. Contact VINE support for a search or registration problem. These checks narrow the possibilities; none makes a missing VINE result universal proof that the person was never held or has been released.
Act on a Bonner VINE Alert
Read the entire alert before acting. Note the named person, participating agency, event wording, delivery time, and any instructions supplied. A notice may concern a movement rather than release to the community. Call the named custodian when current status is urgent. For a Bonner jail event, use Booking Information and then request the administrative custody record if the exact time, authority, or destination matters.
VINE does not guarantee timing, predict safety, or replace an emergency plan. An automated message can be delayed, and an unacknowledged telephone call may repeat. Keep registration information current, retain the four-digit PIN used for telephone acknowledgment, and follow the live instructions. In an emergency, contact law enforcement or emergency services instead of waiting for another automated notice.
Route Each Custody System
Use the Bonner County Sheriff's Detention Center channels for a local jail booking and exit. Use IDOC for a state prison resident or a person under Idaho community supervision. An IDOC result such as In community or Discharged is state terminology and should not be rewritten as a Bonner jail release. Use the Federal Bureau of Prisons locator for sentenced federal custody and the ICE Online Detainee Locator for immigration custody. A federal pretrial detainee held for the U.S. Marshals Service may require the federal court, counsel, or district-office channel.
This routing matters after a VINE event because the sending agency may be only one link in a custody chain. Ask the sheriff record for the destination, then verify that destination in its own system. If the sheriff says the person transferred to IDOC, an apparent county release and an IDOC custody result can both be accurate. If no receiving agency is named, do not assume the person entered the community solely from the VINE status.
Compare VINE With Source Records
Create a short event line for each system instead of merging their labels. For VINE, record the participating agency, status or event wording, and update time exactly as displayed. For the Bonner jail, record the actual exit time, disposition, authority, and destination from the custody record. For iCourt, record the case number and the order or disposition date. For IDOC, preserve the state status and any displayed discharge or supervision date.
Differences do not automatically mean one system is wrong. The systems measure different actions and may update on different schedules. A judge can enter an order before jail processing is complete. VINE can receive an agency event after the physical movement. IDOC can show community supervision after county custody ends. Explain the sequence using each source's own timestamp and vocabulary.
When a field appears wrong, request correction from the office that created it. Direct sheriff booking or custody errors to Sheriff's Records, docket errors to the court clerk, and state-status issues to IDOC's information channel. Preserve the record identifier and identify the exact disputed field rather than asking one agency to correct another system.
