Bonner 72-Hour Release Access
The sheriff publishes a Current Inmate Offense List, not a three-day release log. Ask Sheriff's Records for the existing daily release or custody-movement records covering the exact three dates. The range can catch a Friday order processed later or a weekend movement missed by a same-day check.

Bonner Weekend Release Checks
Court and jail processing do not always share the same clock. A Friday bond order may precede payment, verification, a hold check, and physical departure. Holiday staffing can also affect when a record is entered or supplied. Request actual timestamps for all three dates rather than assigning the event to the date of the court order. Bonner Release Record Fallback
Send the narrow request to the sheriff address shown on the live form. Ask for electronic delivery and the actual date, time, reason, authority, and destination. VINE can supply future alerts from participating sources. IDOC can show In custody, In community, Discharged, or Active Bench Warrant after a state movement. Neither replaces the county record.
The PDF archive is a trap: old snapshots show who was current at a moment, not everyone who left within three days. Comparing snapshots misses brief bookings and mistakes transfers for release.
Bonner PDF Archive Trap
The direct report is overwritten as the jail creates a new current-custody list. Search-visible archive copies are old current lists, not a complete release ledger. An archived copy can establish that a person appeared at the snapshot time. It cannot establish when the person left, why the person left, or whether another agency took custody.
Comparing two snapshots creates gaps. A brief booking may begin and end between reports. A transfer looks much like a community release when only a missing name is observed. Data corrections can also remove a row. For the full three-day period, request the native release fields rather than reconstructing events from cached PDFs.
Describe the result with source and date: the person was or was not listed in a named snapshot. Reserve “released” for a custody entry, VINE event, or agency confirmation that supports that term.
Bonner Release Versus Transfer
A movement to IDOC, another county, BOP, ICE, or U.S. Marshals custody ends a stay at the Bonner jail but does not put the person in the community. Ask for the destination field. Then use the receiving system. IDOC’s Resident/Client Search can display In custody, In community, Discharged with a date, or Active Bench Warrant. These labels are distinct. In community usually means felony probation or parole. Discharged indicates the state sentence has been satisfied as shown.
Idaho VINE can supplement the inquiry when the relevant agency participates. A VINE event is not the charge disposition and does not rule out a different custodian. For federal sentenced custody use the BOP locator; for immigration custody use ICE’s locator; federal pretrial movement may require the federal court, counsel, or U.S. Marshals channels.
Bonner Three-Day Request Timing
Idaho Code § 74-102 allows a reasonably specific written request and electronic delivery. For Idaho residents, the first two labor hours and first 100 paper pages are generally free unless another authorized fee applies. Qualifying excess actual costs may be itemized and collected first. Under § 74-103, resident requests ordinarily receive a response within three working days or, after written extension notice, ten working days.

Use the address on the live form or call 208-263-8417 to confirm delivery. A precise request seeks one date range, named fields, and electronic output.
Write a Narrow Three-Day Request
Name the person and give a start date and end date rather than asking for every jail record. Add the booking number, arrest date, or date of birth when known so Sheriff's Records can identify the correct custody episode. Ask for the existing daily release record, custody-movement entry, jail-release screen, or booking-jacket fields for that period. The requested output should include actual release date and time, release disposition, releasing authority, destination agency, and responsive bond information. Asking for electronic delivery keeps the request focused on the existing administrative record.
Do not ask the sheriff to create a new three-day report or compare old rosters. Idaho public-record access reaches existing records; it does not require an agency to build a custom release feed. A useful request can say that the purpose is to confirm whether county custody ended during the stated period and, if it did, whether the person entered the community or another agency's custody. If part of a responsive record is withheld, the remainder may still provide the administrative exit fields needed for the check.
Reconcile Court and Jail Dates
The Idaho iCourt Portal answers a different question from the jail record. A docket can show a bond order, sentence, dismissal, or other case event, but the time of an order is not necessarily the time of physical release. Jail staff may still need to verify payment, other holds, identity, paperwork, or a receiving agency. Record both timestamps instead of forcing them into one event.
If the person disappears from the current jail report during the three-day window, first describe only that observation. Then use Booking, the custody record, VINE, and the likely receiving system to determine what happened. A completed court case does not exclude an unrelated hold. A release from one charge does not establish release from the facility. The strongest local answer joins the actual sheriff exit record to the relevant court entry without treating either source as universal.
Idaho Sheriff Connect Limits
Bonner County announced participation in Idaho Sheriff Connect in 2025. The documented Bonner features include a current-inmate list with booking images, a record-request form, a sex-offender map or list, news, and case-follow notifications by call, email, or text. Those functions can help reach a current record or request channel, but the available county and launch material does not document a recent-releases tab or continued display after release.
Treat an app result the same way as the sheriff's current PDF: it is evidence about what the current-custody source displayed at the time checked. It is not a reconstructed list of everyone released over the preceding 72 hours. When the app no longer shows a person, obtain the movement or release field before describing the change as community release.
Keep a Three-Day Source Log
A weekend check is easier to verify when every observation has a timestamp. Record when the Bonner current report was opened, the report date printed by the source, the name and identifier used, and whether the row appeared. Record the iCourt case number and docket entry separately. For a telephone confirmation, note the office contacted and the substance of the response without presenting an informal call as a certified record. Keep the records-request confirmation so the requested date range remains clear.
Use careful language while the sources are incomplete. “Not listed on the current report” describes one snapshot. “A release order appears in iCourt” describes the court event. “VINE reported an event from the named agency” describes the notification layer. Only the custodian's movement or release record resolves the actual jail exit and destination. This source-by-source log prevents a later report update from erasing the basis for the conclusion.
The three-day window should be defined by calendar dates, not by three copies found online. Ask whether the start and end times should cover complete days when the boundary matters. A release shortly before midnight and a record posted after midnight can otherwise appear to fall outside the intended range. Narrow date wording also helps Sheriff's Records retrieve the correct existing entries without being asked to research an open-ended history.
